Black Canary (JLU)

Here’s Mattel’s ultra cool Black Canary figure… made better. Canary needed some facial retooling. Many customizes have used Casimir’s BC fix-up recipe which involves a Witchblade Animated Sara Pizzini head. I, however, didn’t have the Sara head to spare, so I just worked with what they gave me. I removed Canary’s noggin and hair (the hair’s on good so prepare yourself for a bit of a struggle if you want to remove it!), I sanded away at her cheeks, filled in the eye sockets with decoupage, then gave her a total repaint. I painted the flesh on her torso to match her new facial tone and she looks much better now. Since I was doing a fix-up, I figured I’d go all the way and gave her boot cuffs out of vinyl. Thanks Mattel! Get ‘em as close as you can and we anal-retentive customizes can handle the rest!
