Firefly

I decided to try something here that I’ve never seen done before. Often the Timm animated designs for characters are MUCH cooler than the comic designs. Firefly is one of those cases. So I decided to translate that design into a Marvel Legends figure. And my “DC Legends Animated” line was born! Firefly was made from a Marvel Legends Magneto – the box set Magneto to be specific (not that it matters). His chest was resculpted, and his head was sculpted over. His hands were replaced with ones from an X2 Wolverine. His glove cuffs are vinyl. His antenna comes from the arm from some random animated Batman figure. His flame gun comes from an Animated Mr. Freeze, and his fire saber comes from a 5” X-Men Nightcrawler. The thing that really brought this guy to life was the paint application. I painted a flat gray and then dry brushed some silver over him, giving him a dirty metal feel. I’m really, really happy with how he turned out!
