Hawkgirl (Lt. Shayera Hol)

Here’s one of my favorite JLU figures, and a figure I would bet money Mattel will never make. This is Lt. Shayera Hol as she appeared in the very excellent JL movie “Starcrossed.” Lots of sanding and sculpting was executed upon, of course, a Hawkgirl body. The head is Wonder Woman’s resculpted with Shayera’s lower hair, but then I thought about it for a second and realized what else was I going to do with the old Hawkgirl head. So rather than letting it waste away in the fodder bin I turned it into an alternate masked head. The heads snap on and off with the greatest of ease thanks to a notch in Hawkgirl’s hair that applies to her back above the wings. But, no she’s not perfect. I just wasn’t ambitious enough to get the shoulder pads right, and the paint job could be cleaner. My main problem was the figure was so small, but the design of the armor on the show was quite detailed. I did my best and she’s loads of fun. I even repainted her mace to match the outfit.
