Inque (Early) By Kevin Here was my early first attempt at Inque. There were definitely a lot of different ways to do her. Ultimately I decided to make her out of a random spare armless Supergirl torso. It was economical and it actually turned out quite interesting. Everything else you see is Sculpey. I had a difficult time sculpting two separate legs that would support her properly, and I didn’t want to just have her rising up on a big tube like I’ve seen some people do, so I compromised and twisted the legs around each other merging them into a pool. It’s also possible to roll up some extra black Sculpey and make the spindles on the bottom continue. At first I just wanted to have one regular arm and one regular blade, but then it hit me to have interchangeable arms. The arms are sculpted, and the twisty spindle is too, but the blade was taken from an old sword taken from a random figure. I dried the socket then fit the still malleable limbs in to make a peg and hole kind of effect then dried the limbs so they hold on their own and can be removed and replaced with ease. Her "eye" is a circle of paper that was sealed on with Mod Podge. In retrospect, she’s not really bad, just odd, and I could have done a better job sealing up the cracks in her sculpt. No worries though I completely started over from scratch with my next one. |
