KG Beast

One of the few Bat-Villains that got under the radar of the JLU Bat-Ban and made it to the Legion of Doom. KGBeast was also something of a test custom for me. I have a severe lack of fodder for larger bulkier characters, so here I got creative. I took Green Arrow legs, then sliced a Martian Manhunter torso vertically in half. I filled in the two half and completely sculpted over J’onn’s torso, filling in the gaps to make it wider. Then I built up J’onn’s arms to also be bulkier. I sanded and sculpted until I got the right shape. It was a little frustrating, but it’s a way to get a bulkier torso and still keep shoulder articulation without springing for a Batman Beyond Happy or a BTAS Bane figure on E-Bay. His head is a modified/enlarged JLU Amazo head. I went on to sculpt his backpack, gun hand, and target eye all from scratch. His belt is vinyl, but the pouches are sculpey as well. The wire from his gun to his back pack is just an unpainted twist tie from a Marvel Legends package. The paint job was a little tedious, but I think I got the chest hair the way I wanted it. A pretty complex custom, but if the recipe works for him, it’s bound to work for simpler muscle men, like TNBA Bane and Ubu.
