Oasis

By Tim and Kevin

If you’ve never read the online comic strip “Sluggy Freelance,” you don’t know what you’re missing. Our good friend Chuck is the person who got me reading it, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Chuck’s working on the main characters as customs, but I thought in the meantime it would be fun to work on some supporting characters for his birthday.

This gymnastic assassin was made from the second Hasbro Batgirl, as I felt her face complimented Pete Abram’s artwork nicely. I passed her off to Kevin for the hair sculpt, because I did not feel capable of accurately representing her crazy ponytails myself. Once Kevin sculpted the hair, I sculpted the rest of the details, added vinyl for the skirt, and boot tops donated from an X-Men Magik figure. I had quite a hard time coming up with a main color for her, because it’s usually colored a deep shade of purple, almost black. I had to compromise and use this blue-black I found. In the right light it will give you the tint of blue that’s included. In the end, I’m really happy how she turned out!
