Scarecrow (TNBA)

By Kevin

TNBA Scarecrow is by far my favorite character design from the DC Animated shows. I’ve been putting this custom off for a very long time. Ever since I first got into figure collecting this was the one I always wanted the toy companies to make, but alas it just never happened. When Hasbro lost the DC license and Mattel started making TNBA sculpts it rekindled my hope a little, but I guess they’re done with those. Oh well, in the time I waited I probably honed the skills necessary to pull it off. Like most TNBA Scarecrow customs this one is a bunch of parts thrown together with lots of sculpting and some vinyl. The legs are a Mattel Joker, the Torso and arms are a heavily modified JLU extra-articulated Batman, the head is an original sculpt, and the hat is a reworked Machine Gun Joker hat. The bottom of the coat and the hair is vinyl. I went to town with dark colors and shadows, because that’s what made this design so creepy (that and the noose.) In the end, I think I succeeded in making a Scarecrow that captured what I liked about this design. And now I’m one step closer to having TNBA versions of all the villains.
