Skippy
By Tim
If you’ve
never read the online comic strip “Sluggy Freelance,”
you don’t know what you’re missing. My good friend Chuck
is the person who got me reading it, and I’ve been hooked
ever since. Chuck’s working on the main characters as customs,
but I thought in the meantime it would be fun to work on some of
the strip’s villains as a gift for Christmas.
Skippy is a parasitic demon who “infects” the mind of
this (apparently) helpless man. Often you will see a lump of slime
on his shoulder, who is in fact the “real” Skippy. In
this body, he has the power to turn his arms into gushing slime.
I made Skippy from a Nightwing head, Flash torso, Mattel Joker legs,
and hands from a 5” X-Men Sabretooth, with Sculpey filled
in from shoulder to wrists. I sculpted Flash’s torso to look
more like a shirt, with vinyl at the bottom. Everything else is
paint.
