Slipstream

By Tim and Kevin

Slipstream was just a fun character that we grew attached to. We both made one, but unlike Sage, we both used the same recipe. We used an Alien Fighter Silver Surfer figure, and sanded away all of his spiky features. We then built up his hair with Sculpey to give him that blonde surfer look. We both sculpted the pouches on his belt and his kneepads as well. A warning to anyone who wants to use one of these Silver Surfer figures as a base: don’t get his plastic too hot, as it will melt like wax. I discovered that while trying to sculpt a belt. Luckily, I was able to fix the problem well enough. The rest was a paint job, and we outlined his eyes and drew his eyebrows with a marker. The surfboard was made, conveniently enough, from the Surfer’s board. It was cut and sculpted to shape and then painted blue with the big yellow “X”.
