Sluggy Animals When we were making “Sluggy Freelance” figures for Chuck for his birthday, we agreed that there were some characters that were just too important to be left out. Bun Bun and Kiki are two of the strip’s main characters, but they’re talking animals. So in come these tiny guys... Bun Bun By Tim The tough talking mini lop rabbit is, of course, a tiny hunk of Sculpey. I painted the details as best I could, but I couldn’t find perfect shots of Bun Bun’s gray spots, so I sorta just made it look right Kiki By Tim The sweet ferret of the strip is also a tiny bit of Sculpey. It took some work to get her balanced, but her “S” shape helped, as did adding tiny feet in the front. She even fit’s nicely on Sam’s shoulder (her original owner, before he became a vampire). Kitten By Alison A villain of the strip, Kitten is drawn very differently from the rest of the characters. It almost seems real, like a real photo was Photoshopped in. One night, my girlfriend Alison and I were shopping for a realistic Kitten figurine, but couldn’t come up with one that was appropriately sized. Dishearted, we went back to my apartment so I could continue painting the rest of my figures. Out of boredom, sympathy, and a desire to be included, Alison took a hunk of Sculpey and made a Kitten figure! She then went on to paint her sculpt, and the result is what you see here today.
